Wise Intelligent’s Stevie Bonneville Wallace shows up at the perfect moment in hip-hop history

A deep, thorough and stunning album! Wise Intelligent’s rhymes, messages and delivery are super sharp, as he pulls the mask off the system’s heinous crimes of institutional racism, designed racial segregation and corporately directed brainwashing of the public through full media control and the dispersal of ignorant unintelligent content to the masses. Love and real romantic connections get attention in “Godless Gods & Goddesses,” and the way that Wise inserts throughout the album remarks by Nas, Jay-Z, RZA and Barack Obama manages to both ingratiate and scrutinize what they say. This fourth character-LP by the Poor Righteous Teacher is so easily a highly honorable mention from 2016.
